After MOP, is upgrading to a condo the next step?

Once our HDB hits MOP, there’s this feeling that the next step is naturally to sell and upgrade to a condo.

But the current home is comfortable and the extra space or lifestyle upgrade isn’t really needed, does keeping the HDB make more financial sense.?

Upgrading makes perfect financial sense if you want to build wealth through property, but it's not wise to do it just for the lifestyle or to show off. If you treat property as a consumable, keep your HDB.
