? about credit card, what should i choose?

27 and finally thinking about getting cc. I'm frugal by nature. Here's the context: I hardly have big spending on myself - the most recent one Invisalign which instalment of $500. I spent <$100 on grab, foodpanda etc. Bills add up to ~$110. $2.6k insurance annual? Overall looking at e-statement would be prob $800-$1000?

I'm thinking about no minimum spending & annual fee, cashback or rewards is fine. Maybe 2 cards for diff usage? What about HSBC revo & CIMB world? Please help me out and feel free to gimme your best recommendation/tips or whatever ^_^

Thank you so much!

Hi all, appreciate the advice! my first card since last year - HSBC advance!

Most cashback cards with high % rebate have a min spend and cashback cap. I am frugal by nature too and used to have one, but increasingly felt that I was pressured to spend $600-$1000 a month just to keep the cashback %.

Hence, I switched to miles cards and never felt better.

For online spending, the Citi Rewards MasterCard is my go to card which I recommend. It provides you with 4 miles per dollar, which is the same as an 8% discount (valuing 1 mile at 2 cents) in majority of the online stores. You can shop on Shopee, subscribe to Netflix or Spotify, pay for Telco bills and earn the rewards.

These miles have a validity of five years, so you will have sufficient time to redeem them. In just a year, I have already managed to get enough miles through my credit cards to redeem a business class round trip to Japan!

To add to the 4 miles per dollar, you can obtain 30,000 Citi ThankYou points (equivalent to $240) when you sign up using this link and spend $3000 in the first 3 months!

For offline spending, you can consider the Citi Cashback+ Card (4.5% for first 3 months, 1.6% thereafter, which has no minimum spend) or Citi Cashback Card (8% cashback, min. $800 spending) for months with high spend.

For additional discounts, I also have an AMEX Krisflyer Blue card. This credit card is perfect for those that want to get the best deal when it comes to discounts way higher than a normal cashback/miles card. In less than 1 year, I managed to snag deals like 50% off dining at Pan Pacific, 13.3% Cashback on Contactless Payment, 25% off Sheng Shiong.

With the Amex Krisflyer Blue, you will also obtain up to 13,300 KrisFlyer miles and $200 statement credit if you sign up using this link and spend more than $3000 in the first three months.

American Express True Cashback Card and POSB Everyday Card seems good options for no minimum spend. ...
