A third-round of COVID-19 Budget measures will be rolled out by DPM Heng Swee Keat at 2pm. What do you hope will be covered this time?

The Government has been very generous so far and has been committed to helping businesses and workers tide over this difficult period. In which areas or sectors would you like to Government to touch on this time?

Here to hope that there is no need for a 4th round of budget 2020

but also hope that if things does not recover fast, there is a 4th round of wage support for SMEs.

Every. bit. helps.

My guess is that things might have taken a turn for the worse.

Between the second and third budget, I believe in terms of the economy wise, DPM Heng was waiting to see the impact of the virus on the western economies to see how deep a problem it was going to be. Clearly now it has become a huge monster.

The exuberance from the second budget kinda has waned down really quickly and seems like the alert bells on the economic recession are sounding louder than ever.

Definitely more support given to:

  • Sectors and industries (which in this present moment, are deemed to be non-essential) eg your shops, gyms, fashion, electronic stores etc.)

  • Companies to not let people go (thus creating a huge cyclical unemployment with no end in sight)

  • Individuals who might be suffering some major job cuts and thus being unemployed. The relief fund of $500 could be extended to more months in my opinion.
