4 month since circuit breaker, what are some of the thoughts of working from home? Yay or nay?

For me, i have alot of me time to learn new language, new programming language, brush up my investment knowledge, learn to cook new dishes, have longer rest, able to catch more dramas as well as more flexible fitness routine! Yay for me.

Hello!

I must say WFH has been quite a positive change for you! I had the opportunity to WFH for about 4 months during my internship and I think there are both pros and cons.

Pros:

-You get to sleep in

-Save on travel time/money

-More time to workout/indulge in hobbies (provided you don't overwork yourself too much)

Cons:

-You definitely arent working less. On the contrary, I felt like I was working more

-You can't socialise with your colleagues/friends

-It's generally more difficult to learn things from home as compared to being in the officer (as an intern)

Overall I felt that a permanent WFH situation wouldn't be ideal. However, having the option to do so on certain days would be great.

Work at home not condusive for me. whole family is stuck at home, not enough space for everyone. when i bought my flat, listened to expert say to buy the "right size" home. din factor in everyone working and studying at home. cannot even refurnish the place last minute becos furniture shops were closed. had to use cardboard boxes as makeshift tables.

now thinking of relocating to bigger units, but price are still over budget. mayb hav to convert living room into work and study space. no more space for play, socialising and entertainment.

Hi Anon! Thanks for sharing your experience during the circuit breaker. Personally, I am grateful for all the online webinars and free courses during this period. Being stuck at home also allowed me to have more personal time to reflect and understand myself better.

I love working at home!!!!!

  • can wake up late :p
  • can slack HAHA
  • longer lunch breaks
  • lesser human interactions
  • more me-time
  • flexible!!!
  • can end work on time!

I love working from home! I hope this will continue on in the future and become a staple in the work...
