1 month agent fee for 1-year lease? Is this common?

Is this common right now that house agents are charging 1 month for both 1 and 2 years lease? I am due for rental renewal, my house agent is requesting 1 month agent fee even though we are planning to sign 1 year lease. She mentioned that it's common nowadays for the agent to do so.She also added that she is willing to assist us with our next house hunt at no charge.

What do you guys think? Need your opinions on this because I've always thought the standard rate for 1 year lease is 1/2 month agent fee.

  • 1yr, 1/2 mth, 2yr, 1mth.
  • You are tenant? Or landlord?
  • Usually landlord pay, for the commission. Tenant dont pay commission.
  • If u are tenant, use your landlord agent, u no need pay anything.
  • Landlord have to make sure the paperwork done correctly anyway, so most likely will hire one.
  • If u pay 1 year, 1 month. u spoilt the market. Next time, all agent will do that.
  • DONT DO IT.
