In my blog post My Withdrawal Plan from Tokenize Exchange, I mapped out my plan to withdraw my crypto portfolio in Tokenize Exchange. Step 1 is to onboard a crypto platform or wallet.
Among the 3 suggestions from Tokenize Exchange support and friends, Coinbase Singapore is the most established name, the other two I didn't know before this saga happened. Hence I decided to try onboard with Coinbase.
I signed up a Coinbase account. The KYC was pretty fast, where my account was approved almost instantly. I went to the "My assets" page:
Obviously I don't have any crypto assets in my newly created Coinbase account. However, the page does show the 2 most popular crypto coins BTC and ETH. I clicked the 3 vertical dots beside BTC, it shows the options of Convert, Send and Receive.
Convert is for converting crypto coin to fiat currency, and send/receive is for sending/receiving crypto coin to/from another crypto platform. What I need during the scheduled withdrawal window is to receive my crypto coins from Tokenize Exchange.
I clicked the Receive option for BTC and the following pop-up window showed up:
Your address field would be the address for BTC on Bitcoin Network in Coinbase. I would need to copy this address and whitelist it when I withdraw BTC from Tokenize Exchange. Refer to the whitelist step in the step by step guide on digital wallet withdrawal portion: https://tokenize.exchange/faqs/fiat-token-transfers/digital-wallet
My assets page only shows BTC and ETH. I would have to go to the Explore page to search for other coins:
As an example I clicked the third coin XRP on the Explore page and the XRP page shows up:
Here I can see the Receive crypto option at the lower right corner. I checked the same for my other coins ETH/SOL/ADA, and they all have this Receive crypto option.
However, the TKX page doesn't have the Receive crypto option:
It mentioned that TKX is not tradeable on Coinbase, but tradeable on Coinbase Wallet, which seems to be a related but separate entity. So I would need to onboard Coinbase Wallet for TKX.
So far my exploration of Coinbase seems to reach a point that is sufficient in preparing me for receiving BTC/ETH/SOL/ADA/XRP from Tokenize Exchange during the scheduled withdrawal window. I would need to explore further in terms of trading, staking, converting to fiat, and withdrawing to bank account after receiving my crypto coins in Coinbase.
I would move on to onboard Coinbase Wallet for my TKX, and that is a topic for another blog post. Stay tuned.
