Introduction

The global pandemic has badly hit many professions in the world. Many people lost their livelihoods. But, many new and attractive jobs have also popped up just because of this pandemic.

As the pandemic hits the global economy in 2021, the general trend on earning money has changed to a great extent. The use of technology is growing exponentially and so are the jobs associated with this use of technology.

The digitalization of many fields as a consequence of the rapidly growing use of technology has produced a vacuum of jobs that are more part-time than being professional.

Student life is all about struggle. Every individual in his/her academic career wishes to be as independent as possible. This involves not only social independence but also financial independence.

Without further delay, let's jump into some of the ways you can earn some quick bucks as a student.

Freelancing

This is indeed the fastest growing method to earn money not only online but also offline. Freelancing is more like a mode of earning money than a profession. The “work from home” experimentation has produced massive job opportunities for individuals with some technological skills.

One of the most appealing aspects of freelancing for students is that they are not bound to do this at a specific time. The money, the time, and the type of freelancing services to be offered, are all according to the mood and comfort of the individual offering his/her services.

So if you are good at graphic designing, web management, copywriting, photo editing, or anything that can be done on the computer, you can earn as much you want from the comfort of your couch.

All you need to do is get yourself good at some digital skills and start earning. You can do this without even compromising your studies!

Through Your Lecture Notes

Almost all the universities and colleges are conducting their academic sessions online. Lectures are delivered via the internet, and many students are not good at noting them with efficiency.

Moreover, if you're a bright student in your class, many of your classmates will be interested in having your notes for the preparation of their exams.

If you are good at typing, try making notes of the online lectures that you attend. These notes can then be sold to your classmates and everyone else who is interested in buying them. I myself am also selling some notes on Carousell as well!

Write Reviews

These days, sellers on Amazon and other e-commerce websites want their customers to write more and more about their products. These writings can be in a form of a suggestion or can also be a review of the product.

Even if you have not purchased the specific product, you can write about it by questioning the individuals that are using it already. Similarly, reviewing applications on the app store/play store can get you paid as well.

The more views and likes you get on your review, the more money you'll get. Don't forget, you can also write reviews on Seedly here! Though you won't get paid, it definitely helps the community so why not right?

Conduct Surveys Online

You do not need any skill and/or expertise for conducting surveys. Data collected from these surveys are used by Data Analytic Firms and Researchers at various universities.

Formerly, these surveys were conducted by people through active engagements but as we all know, direct contact is prevented these days due to the threats of covid.

There are now plenty of online platforms where you can do surveys and get paid. Fill them, submit them and earn your reward.

Dividend Investing

Investing in the stock market can also help you generate passive income without much work. Being in Singapore, you have the luxury of enjoying tax-free dividends! As a student, if you don't have much to your name, you can start investing small. Even $100 is enough to get you started.

Once you start, keep on adding more and more. One tip that I did, is to do tons of side hustles such as the ones above, use that income to fund your investment portfolio. The dividends that come back will then also be reinvested back into the portfolio to compound the growth. It might start out small but after a while, the compounding will become bigger.

Conclusion

The struggles in student life either make us or break us. A student with some extra-curricular skills can offer his services to anyone interested. And can thus have a bit extra financial freedom throughout his student life.

I hope that students start hustling earlier in life as I did. You might earn a few dollars here and there but it feels great hustling while you're a student because you get to live just a bit more comfortably than you did before. Not to mention, you can put this on your resume as well to make it look sweeter than ever!
