I know what's it like to be broke...

But if you know where to look, you'll get to where you want!

1) Start with your Financial Goals

For me, it all began with a lofty goal of getting a million dollars by X years old to independently FIRE!

But along the way,

SACRIFICES HAD TO BE MADE!🥲

❌ Social life outside work, especially maintaining a relationship😭

❌ Keeping a healthy lifestyle

❌ Bad skincare - working in a fast-paced healthcare profession AKA swabber during the heat of the pandemic

However, I gained:

✅Money from swabbing people's noses EWW but necessary

✅Made more money during the rise of Crypto

✅Connections with people from aLL walks of life #socialcapital

If there's 1 thing learned is that....

2) Who You Know Determines Where You Go

Source: giphy.com

And that can only happen when you start opening yourself up to socialise and connect with others.

Note: You don't have to bootlick your superiors to get to where you want to be - your work will speak for itself!

And if it doesn't stand out,

Stand up for yourself!

HABITs That Worked for Me

  • Eat mixed rice or any form of staple food that's below $5 or $4.50 for X months
  • Set micro financial goals then celebrate in inexpensive ways once achieved
  • Capitalise on the price alerts on Crypto based on calculated risks with potentially big rewards 🚀
  • Be adaptable & grow your resourcefulness at aLL times, especially in the bad times!

3) Knowing where to look in the gig economy

My final point: Turning passion into skillsets.

After the swabbing stint ended, I transitioned to tutoring—a role that allowed me to share my knowledge and earn a steady income.

Tutoring not only aligned with my passion but also provided the flexibility to explore other opportunities, like investing and further upskilling.

The key lesson here: monetize your skills.

There’s always someone willing to pay for what you know.

By 2024, I was able to travel (since restrictions eased) and stay investing as Nvdia went up WOOHOO!

Final Thoughts: Your Journey, Your Rules

Let the MAGIC of compounding work for your money - it works!

So, if you’re starting from $0,

📌REMEMBER: You got to build a system of monetization habits for your current lifestyle!

"You don't rise to the height of your goals, you fall to the depths of your automated habits." #selfquote (paraphrased from Atomic Habits by James Clear)
