Real-Life Examples of Food Lobangs included)
This by far has brought me to try some really good food places at attractive prices – some of my favourite places are priced at 50% at timings such as 5:30pm.
Unlike the other apps, Eatigo offers 10% to 50% discounts for dining, usually at off-peak periods. In essence, the more conventionally inconvenient the timing is for a meal, the bigger the discount.
For example, I had a really good thai food at Huay Kwang Thai last week at a whopping 50% off at 5:30pm. It was a very satisfying and authentic thai food expderience, and to get it at 50% off at a decent dinner time? Score! It’s so good that I have gone back several times since in the period of one month.
It’s not always odd off-peak hours though. Take for example, this BOGO (Buy One Get One) deal offered by Eatigo, which offers a sweet 50% off at every half an hour slot:

I had this for dinner yesterday, and the total bill for a very satisfying and soul-warming noodle meal with some delicious sides and a warm water chestnut drink was for S$21.30 (ie. S$10.65 each).
Compare this to the exact same deal offered by Fave for one person:

With the S$3 difference, you can see why I prefer to take the BOGO deal on Eatigo for the exact same deal. Even if we were to consider the flash deal currently running on Fave:

The above deal would be S$49.50 post taking into account the extra 10% cashback, which would equate to S$12.38 per person. So all in all, Eatigo still trumps here with the S$10.65 per pax deal! That’s a sweet S$2-S$3 savings per pax right there.
Now, I love Shopback for a plethora of different reasons like their cashback on online shopping, but what I have recently been loving is the Shopback GO deals offered on a flash deals basis.
It really depends on the deals that they have on sale at the moment, but so far I have had some good meals with family. For example, here are some of the deals that I have used:

S$8.90 on a filling hotpot set that I had with Dad at a hotpot place that I find comparable to Haidilao? SOLD.
Likewise, being able to have a good satisfying meal with cauliflower rice at Dosirak at under S$2 was literally #cheapthrills.
And here are some deals that I have gotten, but have yet to utilize:

I also appreciate that these deals are at eateries that I really enjoy, or have heard good reviews of. For example, Poke Doke is hands-down my favourite Poke place in Singapore, and I have dined there many times at full price. Similarly, I have heard really good things about Blanco Court Beef Noodles, and if all goes well, I would be happy to be a loyal customer there!
This used to be one of my favourite food apps in 2019, but I find that it really depends on who are the vendors offering discounts at the moment. As can be seen from the above Eatigo example, it might be worth to see which platform offers you a better deal. Additionally, many of the F&B establishments that I have discovered on Fave, I have become a loyal customer of (with or without discounts).
However, what Fave sometimes lacks in a really good food lobang, they make up in range of food stalls. I also use Fave as a way to check out new F&B establishments at a discounted rate.
