Why are my recent transactions missing?
Don't worry, it could be because you have not refreshed your data! Seedly operates on a one-time, read-only access and simply downloads the transactions on your behalf. What this means is that your login credentials are NOT stored and a new One-Time Password sent to you when you want to refresh your data for security reasons. We will be working with the banks towards a real-time sync to create a more seamless process.
What type of Security measures does Seedly adopt?
We have a very stringent security and privacy policy that dictates all users data are completely secure and private. More can be found here. We would assure our users that we take privacy very seriously. Our Data Retention policy further dictates that we will delete your original Personal Financial Data (as defined below) within a reasonable time after the relevant financial information therein has been extracted and processed into our database for the purpose of generating reports. Or when you request us to do so via the mobile application. We will maintain such data as strictly confidential and will never sell, lease or distribute the same to any third party. We adopt a wide range of latest security in mobile technology today. These include a range of SSL encryption to 4-digit passcode locks and finally to security audits by third-party providers. Why does the OTP take longer than usual to be sent to me?
Seedly works using a third-party aggregator Salt Edge on an integration with the local banks via online web pages, hence, there are various complex tasks for us to perform before sending the OTP to you to verify. It is done securely and highly encrypted as well. We will be working to make it faster and more seamless again in line with our startup's belief in the way that managing personal finance should be.
Why does Seedly need my login information?
We need your login user name and passwords so that we can help you organize and manage your accounts. We use this information to establish a secure connection with your financial institution or credit card company and download your transactions import automatically and subsequently categorising it.
What practices do we use to protect the data in Seedly?
  • Your Seedly app login user name and passwords are stored securely in a separate database using multi-layered hardware and software encryption.
  • We do not store login bank/card credentials (User and PIN). Therefore, you will have to re-login to update your latest financial transactions and data via import.
  • Your transaction data and balances are stored in our secure data servers and vaults but are not immediately identifiable to any user.
Why are my transactions in the wrong categories?
Our Seedly categorisation engine is improving everyday to identify the nuances in the transaction names and accurately determine the categories they belong to. In the meantime, you will be able to re-categorise the transactions by simply clicking on them in the transactions page. We aim to make it accurate for our users as it is in line with our belief on how personal finance management should be.
Is Seedly directly associated with any of the local banks listed?
No we are not and want to make it clear that we are entirely independent of them. We are using a third-party aggregator software Salt Edge that allows us to import and aggregate your financial data. We are at an arms-length from the banks but have plans to further make the process a more seamless one with real-time data.Seedly is considered by the banks to be a third-party account aggregation service which helps you pull together various data sources from your accounts and display it as a simple aggregated view. In that mind, we handle your credentials (user and PIN) with utmost secrecy and never store them beyond the login phase. Do note that your bank provider agreements will be also in place: DBS, OCBC, Citibank, Standard Chartered, UOB, American Express (updated 16th August 2016). We want to reassure users that we take security as top priority and are always scanning our systems to ensure that it is well protected. In the event of fraudulent or suspicious activities, we advise users to contact their financial institution immediately and we will assist the situation.
Who is SaltEdge and how do they do the importing?

Seedly uses SaltEdge as one of the providers for the bank syncing feature. SaltEdge uses asymmetric cryptography so that private keys are on different servers. SaltEdge is also PCI DSS compliant.

Connecting to your banks

When connecting to your bank via Seedly, we will provide an embedded web interface to SaltEdge. In that interface you have to enter your bank credentials. These credentials are then sent to SaltEdge and the SaltEdge service will establish a connection for your account and return the data to Seedly for visualization. Seedly never stores your online banking credentials. For more information, please refer to SaltEdge's Privacy Policy.

How can I protect my Seedly account?
Here are a few tips to help keep you safe online:
  • Keep your passwords safe--don’t share it with anyone.
  • Mix it up--make sure that your password includes numbers and capital letters.
  • Use virus protection and a firewall on any computer you use to access Seedly.
  • Don’t install programs from people or companies you don’t know.
  • Learn what you can do to help prevent identity theft and identify phishing attempts.
How can I close my Seedly Account?
Login to your Seedly account and send us a contact request from within the app, our representative will contact you with regards to the step to delete your account and all your data.
When is the Web version going to be launched?
Thank you for your interest! We have had many requests to do multi-platform. We are a small team now and are working round the clock to bring you the best Seedly experience there can be. We will be working on the web version in the mid of 2017.
