      AXA Travel SmartTraveller Essential

[Claims Process] Submitted my Travel claim on 4th April 2022. Till date (30th June 2022), almost 3 months, no email/calls from the claim department. Btw 1, the claim form is not user friendly at all. Such as, claim amount can only be in 1 currency. For travel claim, you might incurr local currency such as flight ticket and foreign currency such as medical expenses or hotel stay. Btw 2, the attachment can only allow max of 5mb( can't remember the exact size but I can only upload just 30% of my document) for all attachment. Thus, I am expecting the claim deptartment to email me for more supporting documents. which leads to point 1. [Customer Service] Called CS team at least 4 times from april to today. Waiting time is quite long on average around 5-10min of hold before I can speak to CS. Asked about my claim, they are unable to do much except forward to the claim department. Emailed them multiple of times, response takes around 3-5working day with the same set of response, will feedback to the claim team for them to come back to me. At least they do response. [Purchase Process] Quite easy since is online. [Hidden terms] Funny terms, guess Covid-19 coverage is new and policy team never think thru it properly. Traveller is Covid-19 positive oversea. She is covered for flight change cost. I received Quaratine Order(QO) due to close contact. But AXA expect me to fly while I am on QO as it is not covered. :)

      What are your thoughts?

I agree, the same happened to me and AXA made it even more difficult by making further requests on obtaining written letters from clinic and airlines after 4 months from my filing of claims. Totally lousy service

This happned for travel insurance bought in malaysia. I have been sending a reminder every week since 6 months ago for a travel insurance claim. Each time i get the same automatic reply promising to give a response within two working days, there is a personnel reply within two days, but again the reply is a template and not meaningful at all. Baically you just keep saying there will be an officer in charge to deal with me, but till now there is no officer approached me. It has been more than 6 monrhs since I first filed the submssion online. And there is no one approached me to ask for any physical documents. I have another claim, the claim decision doesn't make sense at all, and when i tried to appeal the officer stop responding to my email.

[Claims Process] Relatively fast as compared to others. Backend was very prompt in replies, in both calls and emails. [Purchase Process] is quick too, fast issuance. Sometimes there are promos. However, AXA still relatively more pricey than others. If you like a piece of mind, go for AXA. Less likely for screwups.

      AXA Travel SmartTraveller Comprehensive Plan

[Claims Process] Went to Chengdu, China and had food poisoning. Returned to Singapore to visit GP and had to claim medical expenses. Claiming process was easy and efficient, just do some photo taking of air tickets, boarding pass, insurance policy plan and number quoting before emailing over at the initial phrase. Within 1-2 weeks, an email notification was sent to confirm recipient, and to request furnishing of actual medical receipts. So upon submission to HQ's customer service, and after 2-3 weeks of processing, the claim amount was credited into the stated bank account that I had provided.

[Claims Process] Slow and epicly retarded. What could have been done and dusted in 3-4 days ended up taking 3-4 weeks. Many hidden terms. Will quite literally die before ever giving AXA my business again. They managed to make NTUC Income look good, efficient and professional and that takes quite some doing.

Have always purchased AXA for single trips as they usually have promotion, can apply online in a few minutes and the price seems reasonable with the coverage. They also have coverage for pre-existing condition individuals which I have also bought before for some family member. Unfortunately last Dec I had a travel delay and made a claim. The process was easy as the online claim form clearly state what details you need to provide or submit. Few days later received an email that it was successful and receive the reimbursement direct to my account. It was faster than my annual travel insurance from another company which I also made a claim on the same day.

Bought this for a trip to Korea in June 2019. I chose it because of its coverage, albeit being more pricey than some other insurance policies out there. I didn't have to claim anything, but what I found delightful was how they broke down their policy into an infographic. When all the information was broken down clearly, all the legal terms became less intimidating and I had more confidence in knowing what I had to do, in the event that I had to claim something.

I bought AXA single trip package for my 15-day europe trip. The policy coverage is quite transparent. The price is not cheap, however, you should be well covered.

Bought this plan for a 5 months overseas travel and managed to claim for 2 incidents - the first time I tried to claim, they were super efficient and my claim came in pretty quickly. Second time I tried to claim though, it took several weeks despite me replying their email, and I had to continually pester them with at least 2-3 emails before I got my claim back. I guess it just depends on who's handling it, but still got all my claims back so would recommend.
