Where should I invest when inflation rises?

I would plan for inflation by making use of the stock market.

The safest route for me would be investing through an Index Fund that tracks the S&P 500 as historically proven to produce a return of 10% annually since 1990. Or I could look for individual companies that have high pricing power.
