Interested in what yall think cause I just started working and I'm thinking, okay, so what's next in life? Since Seedly is a financial platform, we see a lot of questions like how to invest/make more money etc. But money is a mean to an end, what really motivates you?
Two main motivations for me...
To be able to provide better life (not just monetary wise) for my family and able to spend quality time with them motivates me.
To be able to bring value and help others through work. Seeing how Seedly helped various people with their finances is that what excites me! Also working with colleagues and helping each other grow better!
That being said, money still matters as it provides me the freedom to ensure that I can do the above without worrying that much (e.g doing work that you dislike)
Actually this is an interesting question. Met a colleague from Ukraine and she shared how we’re immensely lucky To be born in Singapore! Cos our passport is so powerful.
For me, these are my motivations:
I guess for me, i am motivated by progress. I like to challange myself and i do feel great sense of accomplishment in achieveing them. It can be something small like doing 1 more push up than the day before or improving your skills at cooking! :)
For me, it all started when i wanted to maximise a 30days class pass to different gyms. I wanted to see how much i could bring down the cost of each class since i've paid a fixed amount.
1 month passed and i managed to go for 44classes in 30days, bringing my cost per class to about 3dollars a time! I was hooked! So ever since, i do like to set out goals that i would like to achieve and do my best in testing those limits.
The satisfaction you get accomplishing your goals = priceless!
Always remember the reason why you set that goal and you will be motivated!
To achieve financial freedom so that I could spend quality time with my family members and friends.
To be able to live decently/comfortably, able to satisfy both my needs and wants as well as enjoy life with my loved ones, travelling around the world

No matter in your personal, social, work life. To be able to enhance and better the lives be it an improvement in processes, making someone feel better or having a meaningful conversation.

Helping others, sharing my knowledge. Kinda ties in to my ISFJ personality in a way.
That said, I'm motivated to retire early. Will allow me to spend more time with family and friends, travel (especially Japan), catch up on my library of books and games. Getting there in a handful of years, that's the target I've set for myself.

Everyone's motivation is different. I also can't apply what motivates others to motivate me. I have to find my own motivations.
As we move thru different stages of life, we'll find:
(1) Jobs / Career - Some lucky one will find mearning ful jobs / career that give them a purpose and thus motivate them to carry on , do more!
(2) Love ones - Somewhere in the timelife of our life, we may find someone to love, to hold. To love them, to provide for them, to care for them is also what motivate us to work harder, to do more to care for them, to provide for them.
(3) Hobbies / Interest - Some of us here simply eat / breath financials, some of us love food so much becomes food blogger. Some of love are wonderlust and travels every 2 months and all these motivate us.
$ as a medium of exchange, is only a tool to achieve all of the above.
Utlimately, we're back to the basic. Where we can't bring our hobbies / interest , jobs , career, possessins or belongins to where we're suppose to go.
What's left is Love, the love within us, that goes with us everywhere we go.
Love should be the ultimate reason that motivates us, no matter what we do, where we go. Only love wins ultimately.
To retire early and to travel as much as i can!

Kenichi motivates me
I'm motivated by setbacks. E.g. Was always borrowing money from friends. Don't have enough money to get home after clubbing in the past. Don't have money to pay for dates LOL. These leads me to get what I'm currently at 2 years later. Paid off my own diploma. Now waiting for ORD and pay for my own University fees.
