Independent Financial Advisor at Promiseland Independent

I just spoke to one of their staff after signing up for their wait list.

Looks promising especially for retail investors looking for strong funds at a low cost.

And unlike many of the recent Robos, endowus will be taking a different route by going for established well performing funds and creating portfolios using them.

Currently what they provide is very close to what I'm able to provide as an IFA (similar funds just different share class), so it's up to them to differentiate themselves against traditional FAs while fighting off competition from the Robos.

Definitely looking forward to hearing more stuff from them.

It really depends on how sophisticated an investor you are. If you read widely and took time to figure out your general investment philosophy, any financial advisor or robo-advisor will be expensive. In Endowus case, the fees are actually high relative to a broad index fund ETF like VTI , QQQ & SPY. Fees (even relatively small ones in the 1-2% range) will eat deeply into your investment over a long investment time horizon (20-30 years) and give you less returns than what you can expect from taking time to read and DIY-ing your own portfolio.

For the record, if you want to buy bonds you should stick with singapore ones (no 30% witholding tax which you'll get in the US) and use US equities for growth only. Check out Financial Horse website and read up on Jack Bogle.
