What are your thoughts on taking up a RSP for Global X Social Media ETF (SOCL) vs buying stocks across 2-3 social media giants, assuming I'd put in the same amount of money for both?

Better take the ETF because of more diversification, so less risk than 2 single stocks. It is still acceptably expensive (0.65% TER), and probably large enough to survive long term (more than 100 Mio NAV).

Other alternatives could be VGT or QQQ, though then not social media focuses.

This social media focus of course comes with higher sector risk, though it seems that social media will be with us for a very, very long time.
