Hi Anon, If you exceed the annual 25 trade limit the custody fees and asset operating fees (such as commissions, dividend processing, etc) are charged per trade by our Partner Broker, Saxo Capital. For further detail on the fees charged, you can refer to this link: https://www.home.saxo/en-sg/rates-and-conditions/etf/commissions

If I purchase ETFs through Kristal.AI and my total portfolio value is under $50,000, are the ETF expense ratio the only costs I can expect?
Hi Anon, There are other fees such as the withdrawal charges and FX conversion. https://kristal.ai/faqs/?faqcategory=738 But you are right too, ETF expense ratio plays part of the costs too. Hope this helps!

How do I transfer USD via TransferWise into Kristal.AI account? Is there any guide?

I believe the process is you submit a fund transfer request in the app then you should get a payment ID. From TransferWise, you add Kristal’s account details with payment ID to send the USD via the SWIFT system. So there is additional fees from TransferWise and some lag time. The guide is in the FAQ section under Funding/Withdrawal. I have not tried it so if you are successful please share!

Most people will advise looking at Ireland-domiciled ETFs for non-US persons, due to the lower withholding tax rate. I believe there are equivalent UCITS ETFs that invest in the world market. There is an article by Seedly that discuss this. You might want to have a look at it first?

What are the advantages of using Kristal.AI to invest in ETFs over other robo-advisers?
Hi Anon, Personally I feel Kristal.AI has an advantage of its no fee if your investment is below $50,000. Furthermore, they also have a good list of decent ETFs for you to pick from.

Investing in ETFs like QQQ and S&P 500. Will it be better to do it through IB/TD or through robos like Kristal AI?

Hi Anon, It depends on what you’re looking for! Kristal.AI is not a pure broker, but we do give our clients a lot of freedom to choose among our curated selection of 200+ ETFs and ETF baskets. In addition, you can run our investment algorithm, which will give a recommendation for a portfolio that is suited to your exact risk profile and situation! Also, we charge zero fees for the first $50,000 invested – that’s a big advantage, especially when just starting out on your investment journey! 😉

I am thinking to set aside $50 to put into robo-advisors for fun to invest for my mum. Should I do it? Which one should I choose?

I believe that $50 is really too little for DCA to see much of a difference. The costs would probably be of a greater concern. If you really want to go ahead, I personally use Stashaway and I can attest for its user-friendliness as well as its performance.

Hi Anon, Sorry to hear that you’re having trouble navigating our platform. We try our very best to make it accessible to everybody! There are two tips I can give you right away: 1) Have you tried running the investment algorithm? You will find the button “Get Investment Advice” in the Explore tab on your app. There you can directly put in the desired amount that you want to invest. 2) You can use the ETF screener on our website: https://kristal.ai/etfs/explore/ In the filter menu, you will find one option to limit “Unit Value”. Please note: Unit value isn’t automatically the same as the minimum investment value, but it’s one way to start exploring Kristals that might be more suitable for you! Did those tips help you? If not, you can also directly send a Whatsapp to +65 8511 9486 to get further help!
