Are u a net buyer of stocks in the near future? If yes you should hope for prices to be lower so u make more returns in future. A high stock price only benefit those who have already bought and waiting to cash out.

The entry and exit of a position depends on your own desired outcome. Every individual will have their own investment strategy that differs from others. Always stick to your investment strategy and review your portfolio regularly and allocate your invested asset accordingly. (Asset Allocation within the 6 the major asset class is crucial) There are times when I exit a position to move into another fund so that I am able to hedge against the volatility of the market as that is in line to my portfolio strategy. I tend to hold more in cash when I am uncertain of market as a hedge and wait for opportunity to go in. (But I am subjecting myself to reinvestment risk when I do that too) Ultimately it is important to stay invested and not time the market. As the saying goes it’s not about timing the market but your time in the market. Lastly always DYOR or seek professional advice when unsure.

Good question. It is possible to keep reading (and reading) and not action on anything. One approach would be: Form a conviction in a stock, and make a small position in it. It will: 1. Accelerate your learning curve - because you are putting skin in the game, you are likely to learn all you can about the stock, even though it's your first time 2. Because now you have dipped your toes in, the material you read (be it books/annual reports/analyst reports) will be more relevant. You will look for certain data points. 3. You will also learn the emotional aspect of investing. Monitor how you reach when the stock dips/rises. How often do you check on the price? What is your own investment timeline? All these observations about yourself will help you learn. Hope this helps, and all the best!

Forex (FX)

Dividends

Forex is trading with currency pairs. Currency (like SGD) do not pay out dividends because these are not companies generating revenue to payout. However, trading in forex will involve swap rates. You will notice that sometimes you get credited or debited some from your account balance. This is because holding currencies overnight incur interest.

I would say investments to be made 24 by 7 while on the go, with a smartphone and a mobile app (if the company does make one) No longer you need to consult real people agents for investment topics, over a weekend session with coffee or tea. It allows technically inclined people, especially millennials to use this as an mobile idea for real-time or quick investments. As the old saying goes, good opportunities do not wait for long when they come knocking on the door. Mobile applications allow this very same idea to be realized !

Forex (FX)

First misconception about forex is people think you can become millionaire overnight by taking some forex course or following a guru. Second misconception is that forex trading is gambling.
