To all new and seasoned investors, what was your first investment ever made, and how did you come across that decision?

Question as above, just want to know how did most people make the decision of choosing to invest in their first ever company

STI ETF was my first because it was accessible via DBS RSP.

My first ever investment was in roboadvisors. However if you are talking about individual stocks, my first ever was CapitaMall Trust. With strong financials, a string of malls in their portfolio and a decent dividend yield, I couldn't find a better REIT to invest in back then. It is currently extremely undervalued so it might be a good time to get more of CM Trust if you are interested!

Hey! I only started recently and for my first investment, i bought into DBS. I started off learning about value investing so was constantly on the lookout for undervalued companies. These days, I've changed my investment direction to look for growth companies which can compound as the years goes by.

My first investment was on Starhub at 1.40 per share. When it rose to 1.54, I cashed out. I earned a bit but I realised I don't have the time to monitor and 'time' the market. So I switched to passive investing in index funds such as IVV. 9 months later, I'm making a 12.40% return. Trust me, for doing absolutely nothing besides subscribing to a RSP, this return is outstanding in my books. I'm able to sleep well at night knowing ultimately S&P500 will rise in the long-term despite short-term volatility. With that, I can focus on things that truly matter such as my family and girlfriend :)
