Should I switch from Aviva MINDEF & MHA Group Insurance Living Care to Aviva My MultiPay Critical Illness Plan III?

As there will be changes to Living Care due to the new 2019 framework (stricter definitions of CI) with effect from 1st July 2020, an Aviva advisor advised me to switch to MultiPay CI before that date.

Age 33-70,
β€’ Living Care (Severe Stage) $250k

Total Premium ~$54k

β€’ MultiPay CI $100k (Early/Intermediate Stage $100k up to 2X; Severe Stage $300k; Re-diagnosed Stage $150k; Re-diagnosed Stage $150k)

Total Premium ~$47k

Yes you should switch. Multipay includes ECI but your living care doesnt include. If you factor in the extra cost of ECI or Living care plus, Multipay is 10x better and more worth it.

Multipay covers alot more than Living Care and Living Care plus combined. And its alot cheaper in premium compared to the sum of both living care and living care plus.
