My probation is extended till latest May as I'm not performing well (nor do I actually like the job scope) The thing is, due to Covid-19, it will be hard to find employment. What should I do?

Should I stick it out? Or try my luck in this job market?

You don't like working, then quit. Plain and simple. If your goal is to find a job that's more enjoyable than the one you have now, then it’s time to get started. There are plenty of jobs out there that fit that description, no matter what your skill set or experience level may be. The key is to do some research and figure out which type of work suits your personality and lifestyle best. And remember - if you ever feel unhappy at your current job, always reach out to your boss for feedback or suggestions on how to improve things. Ask around - co-workers, friends, family members - for advice on finding a new job.

You should stick around till you find a new job.

on the flip side why are you not performing ? Have a open conversation with your boss to find out which parts are lacking and what you can do to improve on those gaps. is it lack of training ? Lack of experience ?

A short coming will always be a short coming until you fix it.

meanwhile if you really have no interest in your current job keep sending those resumes and look for a new job.

Stick it out until you have the new job offer signed in writing.

Chances of getting a new job (and not getting cut shortly after) is very low. Even if you get a job, chances are it will be temporary or contract.
