My 6-month probation will end after Circuit Breaker and I'm worried that I may find myself out of job. Any advice should that happen? Aside from the income loss, will my resume also be affected?

Turning 25 this year with only 4k savings in bank + 1.5k (Stashaway) as I've been paying off my study loans (one of it is fully paid off in Jan) & I have used quite a bit to fund my wedding last year. This is my 2nd job since graduation. Stayed in my first job for <year. I'm worried about potential future employers judging my work ability/think that I'm a job-hopper. Note: Don't ask me to think positively etc, I've been hinted I may be let go so I'm preparing myself for the worst.

Hello! If you still have the energy and the time after work, I would suggest you to use those free time to upgrade yourself by learning new skills that are relevant to your job. At the same time, start applying for jobs and who knows you might end up having a more suitable job that your current one. Before the employer judge you, I think you have to explain yourself at the start of your interview by sharing with them what have you done during the covid situation and why are you leaving your current firm. All employers will value honesty. Wishing you all the best!

I dont think it will affect much on your resume. In difficult times, its understandable. I think the important part is how you overcome the next challenge of finding a job. It may be hard to find a job not because of your 'bad resume' but times are bad. Less companies is hiring.

Based on your current savings, I doubt it's sufficient for 3 months of expenses. Thus, its important that you start finding alternatives now. Take a look on the fortitude budget announced earlier this week. There are more jobs created for people like you that lost your job due to the COVID. You can also look at some of the 'upskilling' courses where they 'pay' you to upgrade yourself and learn new skills.

Also, this is the time to look into your savings. You will realise the importance of emergency funds which can help you tide through this difficult times. The future is unpredictable thus make sure you are prepared.
