I feel that to answer your question, you must know why you are buying the bond in the first place. Are you buying the bond to hold it long term or are you doing it so you can cash out once you need the money.

If you are doing it with the purpose of...

1) Keeping it long term

If you have no URGENT need for the money, I would suggest that you keep them till they mature. Bonds usually give higher returns for a longer maturity period due to increased risk. Which begs the other question of whether you want to take the risk and wait it out longer to get higher returns although NOT GUARANTEED. After all, pls do your own due diligence to find out more on the risks of different bonds before actually coming to a decision. To summarise, if you have planned your financials and know what you are looking for when investing (in this case keeping for long term), I would say that there is definitely no harm in holding bonds till they mature especially if these bonds are of low risk and you know that you can get your money back when the bond matures.

2) Do you need the money?

If you started buying bonds because you know that one day you will need to cash out eventually before maturity then needless to say there isn't really much choice to choose from. However, if you are buying bonds with your "spare" cash and have no immediate need for the money, there is no harm waiting for the bond to mature. Bonds are relatively low in risk and if you can get a better return than parking your money in the bank for example and feel secure about it, why not right? In conclusion, if you don't need the money then don't need to sell for profits cause the longer you wait, the higher the returns you get ofc with added risk too. If you need the money, then you don't have a choice but to sell it. Hope this helps

If the bonds are paying stable coupons then hold it till it matures

If the company is showing signs of failure sell off and reinvest

Yes similar to Gabriel and Thaddeus, I would recommend __holding bonds till maturity.
