On a historical perspective given the modern times supremacy of the U.S., particularly since decades in the field of technology, the SP500 is one of the best performing indices ever.

There are a lot of SP500 ETFs out there. Because for Ireland-domiciled ETFs there is only 15% taxation on dividends (U.S. domiciled ones: 30%) it is the better alternative for Singapore residents to invest f.ex. into ETF ticker VUSD on London stock exchange, but you need a cheap broker that allows trading with Europe stock exchanges (the ticker is VUSA, and the currency EUR on the other european stock exchanges). The other alternative with slightly higher total cost long-term because of dividen taxation would be to buy ETF ticker VOO on the U.S. stock exchanges.​​​
