How should a guy budget a proposal and wedding?

Im someone that don't see the value of holding an expensive Chinese wedding but my gf doesn't feel the same. At the same that I feel so obligated to fulfill her wishes of having her dream wedding.

Plan with the long-term in sight. Have an open conversation to discuss what happens next after the wedding, e.g. honeymoon, house, family planning.

All these events require money and we have to do proper financial planning to understand the cost associated in each effect. Accordingly, if the budget works out well, then discuss again on whether there is a way to meet mid-way.

At the end of the day, wedding is a once in a lifetime event and the investment will pay off for the next few decades.

Here is everything about me and what I do best.

I think you need to come to a compromise! Communication is key - I told le partner I don't need a proposal nor a ring, but I want a traditional Chinese wedding so we're having one! Find out what is a must, what is a need and negotiate from there. Remember to spend within your means!
