How much should one be paying for a stock investing course?

Was shocked at how much some classes cost. I was expecting 3 digits, but it was a 4 digit number. Is that actually the norm for such investing courses?

Depends on your level of proficiency.

If you are just starting out, education should be self directed. The cost should ideally be almost zero as you would be getting all the essential information from books, forums etc.

Some basic knowledge you would need
1) Knowledge on accounting and finance jargon
2) Reading financial, income and cash flow statements.
3) Assessment other relevant fundamentals ie moats, corporate strategy

These information can be found free on the Internet and books.

After you have gotten your feet wet in the world of investing,I believe what you should pay for are not courses, but capable mentors who can give you wisdom for the extra edge; or insider information/connections you can tap on.

Can i know what range of 3 digits you are looking at? Actually i am thinking of creating those more basic kind of stock investing course as well.

Appreciate if you can let me know what you prefer in the curriculum too.

Some ideas off my head:

  • why need to invest

  • financial jargon

  • financial ratios & meaning

  • how to use the tools

  • common mistakes

Common for them to charge more than 2K. If less than 1K it will be a intro/psycho session for you to...
