Looking at delivery charges + preparation for the newborn. Are there any cost-saving hacks that I should know of?

Firstly, we will need to understand your cashflow. This allows us to have a complete and confident understanding on our finances - our earning abiilty as well as on our expenses. Here are some of the things to note: https://www.blog.pzl.sg/understanding-your-pers...

Next, have an excel sheet or a way to list down all the immediate expenses that you will incur, e.g. delivery, confinement, items for newborn. Thereupon, add a variable percentage to this cost to account for any unforeseen expenses, e.g. medical.

Once the baby is born, we will need to start financial planning for the long term. Some of the key things include a proper healthcare insurance, a life insurance, as well as education planning for your newborn. All these will probably form part of the compulsory cost for your child's future.

On cost-saving, buy in bulk, be open to secondhand items, items that can be passed down from relatives, and be on a look-out for online promotions and fairs. If you are an existing AIA customer, consider staying active with AIA Vitality - this helps you to save some grocery budget in the long run.

On the whole, I will set up at least 6 months of my expenses + immediate cost associated with delivery and newborn. Having a kid may be expensive, but master the value of money and how you can use it to its fullest potential!

Seedly has provided a good cost estimation of raising a child.

That aside, one way is to use grabpay to pay for the child medical and school fees. Using UOB one card and Grab pay you can get 5% cash reabte and grabpay credits can be used to pay school and hospital and insurance fees. Until Grab removes their 5% rebate benefit, this is one major avenue to reduce the cost of raising a child by 5%

Depends actually. A good ballpark is around 1-2 months of your salary...
