Possible, but as with any industry, there are successes and failures.

online seller is similar to a trader, without a brick and mortar store. you earn the price difference between your supplier and your customer. and you will also need to pay "rent" for your online store.

i will warn you against signing up for their courses promising you can be rich and retire early. experiences tell me they show you only the success cases and not the failures. (yes, i had my fair share of trusting wrong courses thinking i can get passive income).

ever saw a book amazon for dummy or a similar title in library. can go read. or watch youtube like (search: ted wholesale) to get a feeling of what you are getting into.

there is no short cuts. don't go in thinking it is simple and you can generate millions very easily. if this is possible, the course salesman will concentrate their time generating millions. why would they want to teach you for a few thousands.
