Between CFP, CHFC and CFA, which will certification will you choose to take if you can only choose 1? Thanks!?

Am currently an undergrad in uni, deciding between the exams to take with the intention of going into the finance industry in general (still undecided on which exact sector yet)

Hi anaonymous, thanks for your question and sorry for the late reply. I think it really depends on what you want to do. If you intend to go into financial advisory, then the CFP will definitely be more suitable. However, if you want to be in investment management, then the CFA is more apt. Hope this helps!

CFA will be useful to climb the hierachy in banking or asset management. CFP and ChFC is for the financial planning industry specifically.

I'm ChFC qualified https://www.linkedin.com/in/josh-tan-6994594a/. I chose it because CFP has a annual membership fee. Surprisingly, I'd suggest skipping both also until you are sure you want to be in financial planning.
