Best ways to earn Miles through weddings? How to not overspend?

Getting married soon- what are the best ways to earn miles through weddings? I find that I'm possibly starting to spend more than I want to for my wedding, what are some areas that I consider cutting back on? Or should I just go all out haha

I think there are 2 ways that you can explore earning miles -

  1. Sign up for new cards where the banks usually offer sign up mile bonuses

  2. Pay for your wedding bills in advance, i.e. advance payments, most hotels would accept such arrangement - this will allow you to maximize the benefits of what you could earn either miles or cashback.

Never go all out, while it seems like wedding is an event for the 2 of you, in actual fact it's an event for the rest of them, your invitees. Don't leverage/borrow/get loan just for your wedding. The day after your wedding - everything becomes a norm. :)

As a recently graduated bride, I hope my answers can help you. Firstly, list down everything that you an possibly have. Then sort them into needs and wants. Focus on the needs, and if you have left over funds that you'll like to spend, look at your wants. Also set a budget to make sure you don't overspend. You don't want to overspend now and face difficulty paying it later cos you'll not necessarily make back the amount you spent via angbaos

Hi! the miles are a reward for your "necessary spending". do not spend for the sake of miles, its not worth it (you may as well just buy the air tickets with your money)

money earned is tough blood money.

Have a great wedding that your spouse and you wants, don't compare and don't go for big item just for that special 1 day in your life.

find those stuff that is not necessary and cut it. For example it seem like a recent trend for many young couples to forgo the wedding dinner (because its so expensive and a bit pointless) so if your parents agree, go cut this. Have a simple dinner with close relatives and relatives.

I just went to a wedding lunch and its very well done, and the groom told me its a lot cheaper than a wedding dinner.

For me personally, my story is that I love my wedding photos, my grate crashing and tea ceremony, but I totally don't remember anything abt my wedding dinner.

so if i can have a time machine and choose, i will skip my wedding dinner

Hello!

I really don't encourage going all out on the wedding. Of course it's a once in a lifetime event, but the marriage and the rest of your lives are the most important thing. You don't want to start your marriage broke and in debt. If you had a budget set out at the start, try your best to stick to it, and don't go more than 20% above it. Most people will forget about the weddings they attended anyway. Just pick some things that are the greatest priority for you and your spouse and focus on those.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! The best way is undoubtedly through capitalising on all the sign-...
